Waterproof Oxford (WPO) fabric is fantastic for either as a lining or as an outer fabric. Unless your project calls for mega structure, you don't need to interface it.
WPO is a nylon composite fabric with a Threads Per Inch (TPI) density of 380T (the total number of warp and weft threads in a square inch). Think of it like thread count in bedding. The standard thread count for bed sheets is 180 threads per inch, with 300-600 thread count being considered as an ideal range for durability.
Oxford fabric is known for it's tensile strength, resistance to tearing and abrasion.
WPO ships folded, in pre-cut in 18" (half yard) lengths, with a possible 1/2" variance from one end to the other. The WOF (width of fabric) is approximately 55". (46cm x 140cm)
DID YOU KNOW?
MATTE BLACK FINISH
In a nutshell, the black finish is a thin coating on top of a silver coloured base metal like zinc or aluminum. It's gorgeous, but it isn't perfect. Be aware that the matte finish is more prone to showing imperfections, and the coating in general can wear off over time. If you scratch it with something sharp, the silver underneath can become visible.
It's all soooo worth it though - you can have matte black make a statement, or take a back seat to your fabric and let it pop. Your choice!
ZIPPERS AND WEBBING
They are cut by the meter (not yard)- but a meter is 39.5". I like to round up to 40" when I measure and cut your order, so you get a little more than a meter each time!
