12 Day Countdown Box
12 Day Countdown Box
12 Day (or Week if you're incredibly patient!) Countdown Box!
Count down the days leading up to a special occasion, like a birthday, or the New Year, or retirement, or the start of a cool new job, or the 12 days of Christmas, or as a reward for getting your bookkeeping done finally (that's a serious event for me lol!) or reaching a milestone on a health goal.
Or, if you want to practice patience, you could stretch the countdown to 12 weeks! Twelve weeks before the birth of your grandkid, or 12 weeks to your wedding, or to get you through the cold weeks of winter. Winter is coming. (I live in Canada. Three crappy months per year is virtually inevitable. :P
Editing to add: Ok, so the *calendar* may think there's only 3 months of winter, but it's actually more like 6 months in many places! It's already snowing in Saskatchewan!)
You can also get this for a gift for your sew bestie, to bring them over to the Dark Side of the Hardware World, Muahahahaha! Unless they're already Matte Black fans, in that case, get them the gift of receiving hardware they didn't have to buy for themselves for their birthday. If you're the spouse of a bag-maker, you could get them this instead of a gift certificate, *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*.
Each box is different, and since I have over 300 products, there's a very good chance you won't have any repeats if you buy more than one box. The value of the contents will be between $68-$75Cdn.
Each little individually wrapped product will be numbered.
There's also a handwritten card in each box. If you would like me to personalize it for you or your recipient, leave a comment at checkout with their first name, and optionally, the event they are counting down to.
DID YOU KNOW?
MATTE BLACK FINISH
In a nutshell, the black finish is a thin coating on top of a silver coloured base metal like zinc or aluminum. It's gorgeous, but it isn't perfect. Be aware that the matte finish is more prone to showing imperfections,, and the coating in general can wear off over time. If you scratch it with something sharp, the silver underneath can become visible.
ZIPPERS AND WEBBING
They are cut by the meter (not yard)- but a meter is 39.5". I like to round up to 40" when I measure and cut your order, so you get a little more than a meter each time!
HOW MANY PRODUCTS
How many darkest bag supplies are in this shop? At the time of my July 2023 inventory count, there are 335 unique items!
THE AFA TEAM
I mostly work alone. I'm either "in the warehouse" (the basement), or "at the office" (a chair in the corner of my bedroom). Sometimes my boyfriend or my friend/neighbour will give me hand. The cats sometimes 'supurrrvise' me while I'm at the office. But for the most part, there is only one person running all aspects of the business.
Since I get asked this often, I'll add this here. (It's also mentioned in the Shipping Policy.)
Lettermail is not offered due to the lack of tracking and insurance to protect both of us.
It is also too time consuming to determine whether the product can be made flat enough to fit in a Lettermail slot that is no thicker than 2cm(1"). Then unbag the products and repackage them, and then tape them onto a piece of paper, so they are as flat as possible, and don't shift in the envelope while in transit. They then have to be padded for protection, and sothat they don't tear through the envelope. The product plus the thickness of a bubble mailer makes it too thick for Lettermail. Then I have to go out and purchase an envelope of the size required to ensure all products are taped flat, then acquire sufficient postage. Since I predominantly ship parcels and print shipping labels, I don't have all sizes of Lettermail envelopes and denominations of stamps on hand, so a trip to the post office is necessary.
